Overview of UNCoST
As introduced in ECOSOC, UNCoST is a part of ECOSOC’s sub committees that is dedicated to helping a specific global problem to be resolved. Referred to as the ‘Functional Commission’, the main goal of these sub committees is to resolve that problem alone across the world and better the world by resolving it.
UNCoST is generally recommended to those who find genuine interest in science and development, as it requires heavy research to craft a resolution. While UNCoST follows the same debate structure as other committees like GAs, EC, and ECOSOC, beginners might find it challenging to engage in debates within UNCoST for their first attempt. This doesn’t mean you should avoid UNCoST as your first try - the choice is all yours!
