đź’ˇ Voting on the resolution is the final stage of the debate as a whole. Remember, your goal as a delegate is to defend your resolution AT ALL COSTS so that it would pass by the majority in favour of your resolution.

Voting is done by all delegates on clauses/amendments/resolution as a whole. All delegates have the right to vote for/against or abstain, where abstention means that the delegate is neither in favour of nor against the subject matter.

However, you must be aware that abstention is not allowed when you answer “present and voting” during roll call - it means that you are actively participating in the voting procedure, and will only vote for/against the subject matter.

In the case of procedural votes, all member states MUST vote yes or no; abstentions are not allowed. For instance, if a motion to adjourn debate is called, all delegates must vote either for/against the motion.
